FAQs
what will happen at my appointment?
Prior to our appointment I will send you a Health and Nutrition Questionnaire, which will include a 3 day food diary, to complete along with a Terms and Conditions form to sign. Both of these will need to be returned to me at least 2 days before we meet.
Our first appointment will last approximately 90 minutes. We will discuss together your current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication and your diet. After which I will take some time to talk through and explain any imbalances that may be affecting you and we will develop together a nutrition and lifestyle plan tailored to you and your specific concerns.
We will then meet again for a follow up appointment approximately 4-6 weeks later to discuss how you have got on with your plan and to make any changes necessary, or if relevant, to move you on to the next stage.
will i need to spend a fortune on supplements and tests?
I will always take a food first approach. Sometimes it will be necessary to recommend supplements to enhance support but this will always be explained to you and the supplement programme will be reviewed at regular intervals and discontinued once no longer required.
Functional tests may be recommended in some cases to give a clear picture of what the client’s situation is - functional tests are useful for confirming - or ruling out - imbalances, enabling us to give a much more targeted approach.
Does Nutritional therapy replace conventional medicine?
Nutritional Therapy is a complementary therapy, not an alternative to conventional medical advice. Practitioners work alongside medical professionals to ensure safe practice and holistic care.
